Advancing Civilization – New Chinese/English song!
I’ve had the pleasure of being part of a wonderful project that has just come to fruition. The CD is entitled ‘A Path of Service’ and will be released in the next month or two. I had the honor of composing three pieces for it – all in Chinese! Composing in a foreign language is not easy, especially trying to figure out where to break the sentences but I was up for the challenge and really enjoyed the process. Jarome Matthew, the producer of the CD, did a fantastic job of arranging the songs and adding beautiful instrumentation to the pieces. I especially love the flute played by Bruce Gremo. My favorite piece is track #4, a bilingual song entitled ‘Advancing Civilization’ with the angelic voice of Zhao Li in Chinese, Bruce Gremo on the flute and Jarome Matthew arranging and producing the song (I had the honor of singing the English vocals).
The beautiful quotation is from the Writings of Baha’u’llah:
人人生来是为了推动文明不断进步的。
All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.
