Video-Whither Can a Lover Go

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

I am delighted to start sharing some private performances of my music with you. A few weeks ago we recorded a video: ‘Whither can a lover go’. It is one of my favorite pieces from the first CD, ‘Melodies of the Nightingale’, which I collaborated on with Michele Brown-Ramirez and Fiona Doomun-Rouhani. I plan to share more videos featuring old and new material in the future.

Photos from Moonlight Concert

I am still feeling the excitement from the Moonlight Concert that I gave for ‘Fire and Gold’ at the Green T. Living last week. I am overwhelmed by the number of friends who attended and brought their colleagues and friends with them especially as it was a weeknight. There were over 200 people there! I would like to share some photos with you from the evening:

A Moonlight Concert

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

The concert last night was absolutely incredible! Preparing for it had been quite intense during the last two weeks singing daily and formulating the introductions for each piece, but it was well worth it. Thank you to all the dear friends who came to support me and I know those who didn’t make it were there in spirit – I felt it.

The setting for the concert was a performers dream. The spirit, atmosphere and gentle breeze at the Green T. Living were exquisite. An ethereal feeling pervaded the whole evening.

As it was an outdoor concert, we were worried that it would rain during the evening (it had rained the night before at the exact time of the concert) but were delighted that the sky held up.

Thank you Kate, Sandy, Siria, Zaynab and Helen for playing such a huge role in making the concert successful (and you too Brian for all your moral support)! Thanks also to Jin R and Robbie, the hosts of the Green T. Living. It is a heavenly abode and was the perfect venue for my debut concert for ‘Fire and Gold’. I could not have imagined a more dignified, noble and majestic environment in which to perform.

My first ‘Fire and Gold’ concert

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I am preparing for a concert! I have been invited by a dear friend who owns an exquisite restaurant, ‘Green T. Living’, to perform some of the pieces from ‘Fire and Gold’ in a few weeks time. I am thrilled to have this opportunity as it will be the first time that I am performing a number of these pieces live. The concert will be outdoors at night on the steps of this lovely setting on June 17 at 8:30 pm. I will be accompanied by Sandy Huening on ‘This is Faith’ (she sang with me on the original version on the CD) and Siria Rutstein (a young, talented vocalist) will sing harmony on two more pieces. We will also have the pleasure of hearing Jin R, the owner of ‘Green T. Living’, playing her own composition on the Yang Qin (a Chinese instrument) and another guest performer on the electric bass. Living’ and its unique environment, click here. For those of you who are in Beijing and would like to attend, Please RSVP the number of people attending (there is no charge for the concert).
