Invincible – a song about bullying

I remember my daughter singing herself to sleep when she was a toddler.  She loved to hum as if she were singing her own lullabies.  My wish was that music would play an important  role in her life as it is been such a healer and a joyful gift in my own.  I’m so pleased to see how much she loves to sing and play the piano and guitar to this day!

When Amelia was 15, she composed a song titled, ‘Invincible’ on the theme of bullying and self-esteem.  The purpose in creating the song and video was to help gain a greater understanding and awareness of these issues as well as developing one’s self-esteem.
My daughter is now writing her college essay about this song and I thought it would be a lovely gift to her if we could spread the word about the video so that it could inspire and reach those in need of hearing it.

My favorite part of the video is when she sings these words as they are so beautiful and especially moving:

You are invincible,
You’re wonderful, beautiful, strong,
You are incredible,
All you need is some help to keep on.

Kindly share the video with your friends.  I know she would really appreciate your support. 🙂
Thanks in advance.  Here is the link to the video.

LYRICS
Verse 1:
Sometimes life gets you down,
Tired and breathless you lay on the ground.
Their laughs and taunts follow you everywhere,
Now you barely notice their glaring eyes and stares.
Its okay to be angry, its okay to cry,
Someday it will all be over,
And you will get by.

Pre-chorus:
Their words cant hurt you,
You have the strength to move on.
So when you feel broken,
Listen to this song.

Chorus:
You are invincible,
You’re wonderful, beautiful, strong,
You are incredible,
All you need is some help to keep on,
Moving towards the things you love,
Finding your place in this world.
You are invincible.
You’re invincible.

Verse 2:
Life can be painful,
Times can be hard,
But don’t let them stop your progress,
or make you restart.
You’ve worked so hard,
Rebuilt yourself everyday,
But you’re beautiful,
And worth it in every way.
Pre-chorus: Their words cant hurt you,
You have the strength to move on.
So when you feel broken,
Listen to this song.

Bridge:
You are invincible,
You’re wonderful, beautiful, strong,
You are incredible,
All you need is some help to keep on.

Chorus:
You are invincible,
You’re wonderful, beautiful, strong,
You are incredible,
All you need is some help to keep on,
Moving towards the things you love,
Finding your place in this world.
You are invincible. You’re invincible.
